What Is The Train Your Own Service Dog Program
Our train your own service dog program is designed to train a fully accredited service dog from your own puppy to adulthood in order to better meet each of our client’s needs.
How it Works
The program is open to civilians, and veterans. The program is not available for handlers younger than 18 without their legal guardians.
An application with a form signed by a doctor or psychologist must be submitted prior to taking public access level courses.
Our Program can train dogs to assist with most mental and physical disabilities.
After an initial evaluation, if you and your dog are chosen then we train one-on-one on a regular basis in the trainer’s area and provide online courses to help accelerate your learning. When you and your dog are close to being ready to take the AKC’s Canine Good Citizen (CGC), and the Public Access Tests then the trainer spends time in your home and your neighborhood to help to educate your family, friends, associates, and the public in your area. We stay at your home or a nearby hotel and accompany you and your service dog to work, restaurants, shopping, school, church, etc. We help properly educate your friends and family as we train with you and your service dog. If you have other animals, we will work with them too.
