  Reliant Dog Show 2008

July 17 - 20 we had a booth at the Reliant Dog Show and we met many wonderful people and dogs.

It took allot of preparation and work, and without the help of all our volunteers we could not have pulled it off.

Jenny Waltmon helped me to set up the booth on the day before it started and helped us on the first day, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday, then to pack up.

Betaseron paid for 300 brochures and we thank them for their continuing support.

Diana, Delayna and her dog Gabe, along with Sammy, (service puppy in training for Al Schwarz) helped Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Don't know what we would have done without them.

Judy Jarvis and her Service Dog Koko helped us on Friday and Sat. They gave demos giving Molly, Adam, and me a very much needed break. Sat. was Judy's Birthday so we celebrated with cake! Al Schwarz, his girlfriend Audie came Friday to meet Sammy, his Service Dog in training by Delayna, and took him home for the night. Saturaday they brought him back for some more time with Delayna.

Robert Eaton, his Mom, Debbie, and Nate came on Saturday and it was a very emotional and happy time to see Nate again and with his human. He was very glad to see us but was content and serious about his job with Robert.

Jennifer, her sister, Katherine, and Annie, her Service Dog in training came to help. Dr. Ali Snow and her Service Dog in training, Dexter came to visit. Shirley and her Service Dog/Agility Dog, Austin dropped by several times (Austin won FIRST PLACE Sunday in Agility!). Kasia and her Service Dog Spyker visited a couple days and we were glad to spend time with them.

The third and fourth days was our busiest but we had experienced help. Diana and Delayna carried the first part of Saturday. Sharon Bonnette, the Secterary/Treasure on our Board of Directors, and Jenny Waltmon packed us up on Sunday.

We had special help this year from a few Boy Scouts and their parents from Cypress Troop 533. They took the dogs out, made sure they had fresh water, walked them around, and ran errands for us.

Houston Pet Talk Magazine did an interview with Robert and Nate and Dog Source filmed it, hopefully they will post it on their website. August issue of Houston Pet Talk, page 28 is an article about us. Thank you, Michelle!
